 | Public Relations Intern - January 2013 - June 2013 I recently served at the Public Relations Intern at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, MN for six months. While there I kept track of industry and Guthrie related news and reviews on a daily basis. I also compiled and maintained media lists as well as researched potential new contacts using Cision. For each new production (there were 9 during my time there) I sent out press and blogger invites, confirmations, and reminders; prepared a press list; secured performance tickets for media members; confirmed seating assignments; and covered the press table on opening nights. After productions closed I compiled clip packets for each one. I also pitched stories to local media outlets, and provided media members with additional information and materials when needed. I also assisted on various tasks for the Guthrie's 50th Anniversary, a weekend long party to celebrate the Guthrie's success as a major regional theater. The Gala performance features theater stars from around the world including T.R. Knight, Whoopi Goldberg, and a video tribute by Christopher Plummer. The Community Day the following afternoon hosted several thousand people. |
